Our Mission
Stroud Road Veterinary Surgery has been developed by Michael Stevenson BSc BVM&S MRCVS and his team to provide the pet owners of Gloucester an alternative to the large corporate and multi vet practices which dominate the local veterinary market. We want to provide that personal service that is lost in a large corporation, to ensure that both you and your pets feel valued in our practice.
Michael was a partner for 20 years in Aspinall Auld and Stevenson. He provided much of the surgical and diagnostic service for the practice and established a reputation for honesty of opinion and surgical skill. In Stroud Road Vets, our mission is to provide the best veterinary services in Gloucester for pet owners who are looking for quality personal service delivered locally and in a timely manner.
What We Offer
Hospitalisation
All our inpatients will be taken care of when possible by our own staff with frequent checks as required. If an animal needs critical care we may advise transferring that patient to Wood Veterinary Group for round the clock nursing.
Pet Insurance
High quality veterinary medicine and surgery can be expensive so we strongly recommend you insure your pet with a reputable insurance company. This takes away the worry about vet bills if your pet becomes ill or injured. At Stroud Road Vets, we process all insurance claims free of charge.
Pet Food & Nutrition
We stock a wide range of food for your pets including an extensive range of prescription foods for particular medical conditions. We stock Virbac foods but can order any make desired.

What animals do you treat?
We are a companion animal practice treating dogs, cats, rabbits and other small pets. We offer a wide range of services including vaccinations, neutering, dentistry, orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, cardiology and sports injury rehabilitation.
How do I register my pet?
You can register your pet online through our Register Your Pet page, or call us on 01452 757000. We'll be happy to welcome you and your pet to the practice.
Do you process insurance claims?
Yes, we process insurance claims free of charge. Simply bring your insurance details to your appointment and we will handle the claim for you.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
For your first visit, please bring any previous medical records, a list of current medications, your pet's vaccination history if available, and your pet insurance details. For cats, we recommend bringing them in a secure carrier.
